Wayne T. Magers, 63 of Watchung, New Jersey passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home.
Wayne was born on October 23, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Forest E. Taylor and Elizabeth E. (nee Owen) Taylor. Elizabeth later remarried Wayne’s stepfather, Albert V. Magers.
He was a graduate of Jonathan Dayton High school in Springfield, NJ. Wayne was a man of many trades and talents and an avid car enthusiast. Wayne was a member of the Road Lords Rods & Kustoms club of New Jersey and the East Coast Gassers Racing Club.
Above all, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his children and family, which extended far beyond bloodlines. A huge animal lover, Wayne also had a passion for drag racing, bowling, and baseball.
He was the loving father of son, Tommy Magers and daughter, Nikki Magers and her husband Garland deGraffenried. He is also survived by siblings; JoAnn Araya, Julie Magers and Mike Taylor, six nieces and nephews, close family friends the Martino family, and former wife; Diane Ruggiero. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Magers.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081. A Memorial will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. All are welcome to join in celebrating Wayne at a gathering immediately following. Details to be announced at the funeral home.
