William A. Schrul
04/01/1956 - 12/15/2020

William A. (Bill) Schrul passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 64 after an eight and a half year battle with lung cancer.

Bill was born on April 1, 1956 in Elizabeth, NJ.  He grew up in Kenilworth, NJ and attended DeVry Technical Institute. He worked in the telecommunications industry for over 40 years.

Bill leaves behind his  beloved wife, Teresa (Teri) of 34 years, his cherished daughter, Allison, his son, Steven and daughter in law, Melissa and his granddaughter, Alice Rose.  His sister, Barbara Jacobs, his brother and his sister in law, Herb and Barbara Eisner as well as many other nieces, nephews and countless dear friends. He is pre deceased by his father, William Schrul and his mother Theresa Skillman. Bill will be deeply missed by his beloved dog, Jack.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved traveling, especially vacations to the Jersey shore, Cozumel, Aruba and Florida among other places. He was a huge sports fan. His favorite teams include the NY Mets, the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics.

Bill worked tirelessly as a volunteer advocate with the Go2 Foundation for lung cancer research. Bill has met with Congressmen in Washington DC, as well as many other Senators and politicians on behalf of the foundation.

His family would like to acknowledge his doctors:  Doctor “G” in Florham Park and Dr. Sequist in Boston for their support and dedication.

There will be a graveside ceremony at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at 9:30 AM.  All are welcome to attend. A memorial celebration of Bill’s life will take place at a future date.
