William “Bill” McLaughlin a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend during his incredible 94 years of life, passed away peacefully in the late hours of Monday, Dec 12, 2022, after a long illness battling Alzheimer’s.
Bill was born on Nov 25, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, to James Mclaughlin and Evelyn Byrne. He was one of five siblings, attended high school at Emmanuel Training, served honorably in the Korean war and graduated from St. John’s University in 1955.
Upon graduating St John’s, he embarked on a career in aviation and then to Wall Street. Bill had an immense passion for the financial markets, but that paled in comparison to his devotion to serving his clients. He was a true “customers man”. He was loved by his many customers, their families, and colleagues throughout the decades.
He enjoyed running, being physically fit, working around the beautiful house they built in the Poconos, and always helping people. Bill had great devotion to his faith and family. Bill’s love of his life was his wife Lorraine, who he married in 1958, and remained so for the rest of his life.
Bill was an extremely caring and warm man. He lived his life in an exemplary manor, and he loved unconditionally.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine, son Steve and his wife Amy, 4 grandchildren – Liam. Kyle, Owen & Drew, and two brothers Martin and Michael.
