William R. Barker, Jr., “Bill”, passed away on September 24, 2022.  A funeral service will be held at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. in Whippany on Wednesday, September 28th at 1:00pm.  Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service.

Born and raised in Morristown, the son of William and Dorothy (Burke) Barker, Bill was a 1949 graduate of Morristown High School.   He lived in Cedar Knolls for 60 years. Bill enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  A crew chief, he was stationed in Germany, England and Libya.  He spent his entire career with Bell Telephone working as a lineman and telephone repairman.  He retired in 1992.  A skilled carpenter, electrician and all around handyman, he enjoyed taking  on projects around the home.

Bill was the beloved husband of 60 years to Mary.  He was the loving father of Maryl Gray and her husband Michael Mabee, Brigid Burke, Sheila Greer, the late William Barker, III, and the late Brian Barker.  He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Michael Mabee and his wife Jillian, Tucker Mabee, Shanna Greer and Franklin Greer and his great granddaughter, Adeline Mabee.  He is predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Davenport.
