Xu Yi

Xu Yi, 84, of Short Hills, NJ passed away on May 19, 2022.  Funeral Services are private.  Arrangements are by Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home in Springfield, NJ.

Born and raised in Wuwei Anhui, China, Xu graduated from the University of Anhui with a degree in engineering.  He worked for the City of Ma An Shan starting as an engineer and worked his way up to being the head of the Department of Agriculture.  Xu came to the United States in 2000, first settling in Forest Hills, Queens before moving to Short Hills in 2007.  Always known as a hard worker, he enjoyed making tea, travel and playing Mahjiang.

Xu was the beloved husband of the late Chaohui Tu.  He is also survived by his son, Charles Yi and his wife Susan Li, and daughters, Dalin Yi and her husband Zhiyong Zhou and Yalin Li, and grandchildren, Yi Zhou and his wife Linyi Lu, Xiiao Yi and her husband Zhi Cui, Yang Yi and Felicia Yi.
