Alfred Otto Hubscher, Jr., 93 formerly of Palmer Twp, PA passed away on August 29, 2022 at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater NJ.  Born 1929 in Newark NJ, he was the eldest son born to Alfred Otto Sr. and Helen Hubscher.  He was predeceased by his wife Natalia in 2011 and brother William in 2002.  Fred grew up in Newark, NJ, graduating from Irvington Vo-Tech HS in 1947. He worked his entire life in retail paint and wallpaper as a salesman for several independent stores and for many years owned the Maplewood House of Color paint and wallpaper store.

Fred served with the NJ National Guard’s 50th Armored Division, “Jersey Blues” from 1947 through 1963.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

After moving to Palmer Twp. PA in 1995, he and Natalia became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Easton, Pa. and the Senior Circle of Easton Hospital. He volunteered in delivering Meals-on Wheels to shut-ins and as a greeter at Crayola’s Easton PA visitor center.

Fred was a member of Old First Presbyterian Church, Newark, NJ for over 40 years where he married Natalia Hubscher in 1950.  He is survived and will be missed by his three children, son Steven and daughter-in-law Jeanette Hubscher, son William Hubscher and partner Rex McCoy, daughter Nancy and son-in-law Michael Fetsko, and five grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly Zederbaum and husband Dan, Eric Hubscher and wife Kathrin, Emily, Lucy and Michael Fetsko, Jr. and three great-grandchildren Ryan and Abigal Zederbaum and Ethan Hubscher.
