Ernest Robert Faenza, Jr., a life-long resident of Millburn, passed away at Overlook Hospital in Summit with his family at his side, on November 22, 2022. He was 73.
Born in Newark to Mildred and Ernest Faenza, Sr., Ernest graduated from Millburn High School in 1968. He served in the National Guard and was called to active duty during the Vietnam War. An avid carpenter and builder, he started his own construction company, Faenza Carpentry. He joined the Millburn Fire Department in 1981, retiring in 2006.
Ernest was a member of the American Legion Millburn Post 140 as well as the Casa Columbo Civic Association in Millburn. He was a big Mets fan and loved going down the shore. He also enjoyed going to the horse track and eating a good meal and good scotch.
Ernest was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Faenza. He was the loving father of Tracey Echavarria and Michael Faenza; devoted grandfather of Emily and Steven Echavarria; cherished long-time companion of Lisa Squiteri; brother of Richard Faenza and his wife Christine and Edward Faenza and his wife Gina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased his parents and his brother, Roy.
