Agustin Candelario Latorre of Irvington, NJ, passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by family on October 26th, 2022. Born to Gregorio and Ramona on May 23rd, 1936 in Lares, Puerto Rico. At the age of 17, with little to nothing he made his way to Newark, New Jersey, meeting his soul mate, then in the late ‘60s made his home in Irvington. After some odd jobs, he became an assembly line worker for Ford Motor Company where he worked for over three decades before retiring in 2003.

Agustin was the Patriarch of his family. A loving, hardworking, supportive, and devoted companion (caretaker), father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a powerful mentor to everyone with morals, respect, integrity, and care especially during times of need. A true die-hard NY Mets fan win or lose. Also, a parishioner of St. Leo’s and St. Ann Church. He will be deeply missed by those who loved and knew him.

Agustin is survived by his children Yolanda, Milagros (Mark), Carmen (Rick), Mercedes (Jose), Zaida (Miguel), Julio (Sarah), Ana (Israel); his loving grandchildren, Melissa (Emmanuel & Leila), Carlos Jr., Edwin, Eric, Alina, Christina, Jessica, Rebecca, Marco, Belinda, Lisette, Leonardo, Jennifer, Rachel, Austin, Aldin, Israel, Ivette, Yavier, Julio Jr., Jeremiah, Tony, Elizabeth, Gina, Benjamin Jr., Rachel, Sylvia; his siblings, Virginia, Ramona, Carmin and Dionicio. He is also survived by 48 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, family and countless friends.

He was predeceased by his lifelong companion, Juana Candelario, his parents Gregorio and Ramona, his children, Benjamin and Ramona, and his siblings, Narciso, Valentin, Aurora, Esmeralda, Santos, Antonio, Eufemia, and Teresa.

Visitation hours will be held on, Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 12pm-2pm and 6pm-8pm at Bradley, Haeberle and Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. Agustin will then be laid to rest with his soul mate in Puerto Rico (his beloved island) .
