Bernadette Martina Flores, 59, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away on January 5, 2022. Memorial visiting hours at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. in Whippany, NJ, will be held on Saturday, January 22 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. There will be a prayer service at 2:15pm.
Born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, the daughter of Bernard and Francisca (LaRosa) Flores, Bernadette came to the United States in the 1970’s. First settling in Brooklyn, then Queens, and back to Brooklyn, NY before moving to Morris Plains, New Jersey in 2014. Bernadette was a graduate of Beach Channel High School in Queens and attended Pace University. In her earlier years, Bernadette was actively engaged in the education arena as there was no setting her kids would be in that she was not present at their sides. Bernadette also worked in retail, as a Home Health aide, after schoolteacher at MS 2 in Brooklyn, and as a Passenger Service Agent for American Airlines in Jamaica, Queens. Bernadette enjoyed traveling, swimming, singing, sports, and rain showers, but most of all she loved her family and dedicated herself to building a strong family unit and a house filled with love and laughter.
Bernadette was the beloved partner of 42 years to Brian Seales, and they were known to many as B & B. She was the loving mother of Valerie Samuel (Omare), Gabriel Seales (Juanita), Jennifer Seales, Christopher Seales, Adam Seales, Alison Seales, Gloria Seales and nieces/bonus kids Elizabeth and Angelica. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Kezia, Gabrielle, Eniah, Kioni, Amare, Abigail, Andrew, Charlotte and great niece and nephew Evangeline and Timothy. Bernadette is also survived by stepmother Shirley Flores, and her dear siblings, Helena (Larry), Ava, Carlos (Christine), Allison (Christopher), Victor (Rhonda), Lisa, Andrea, and Brent (Bina), Gloria, Ian (Audrey), and Adrian.
