Betty C. Boberg

Betty C. Boberg, 91, of New Providence NJ and previously of Madison, NJ and Hamburg, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Overlook Medical Center. Betty was born on Dec. 24, 1931, in Buffalo, NY. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Mary (nee Carroll) Neal. Betty was trained as a registered nurse at Millard Filmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, where she and her husband Richard were very active. She enjoyed playing golf, following the Yankees (which her family forgave her for), and watching UConn Women’s basketball. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She volunteered at the Morristown Memorial Hospital Women’s Association Babies Alumni for over 36 years. She is survived by her daughter, Gail A. Hall and her husband, David, and son, Eric W. Boberg. She was the cherished grandmother of Jason F. Hall and his wife Paige, Kevin R. Hall and his wife Alyssa, and Melody C. Mercieca and her husband Paul. In addition, she is survived by four great-grandsons Charlie, Jonah, Parker, and Cole, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Richard E. Boberg and brother, Ronald Neal. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Memorial Fund at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, 240 Southern Blvd., Chatham, NJ. 07928.
