Beverly LaMont Joslin
03/22/1929 - 03/29/2024

Beverly L. Joslin (Westerhouse), 95, of New Providence, NJ passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024. Beverly was born in Lawrence, Kansas on March 22, 1929., daughter of Margaret and Oscar Westerhouse.  She graduated from Eudora High School and went to secretary school in Lawrence.  She married the love of her life Donald E. Joslin on August 31,1947. They had two children, son Terry and a daughter, Denise. Don was transferred to New York City in 1963 and the family settled in New Providence.

After raising her family, Bev went back to work for Berkeley Temporary Agency.  She loved meeting new people and working as a secretary for several large companies in the area.  Bev and Don spent spring, summer, and fall weekends on their sailboat “Penelope 3” in Toms River enjoying the camaraderie of their fellow boaters.  They became very active in the U.S. Sail and Power Squadron helping others learn to be safe boaters.

After Don’s death she retired to Arizona where she loved “how the sun shines every day.” She took up playing golf and even scored a ‘hole in one’ in her ladies’ league.  Cheering for professional sports teams became a passion. She enjoyed rooting for the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks with aerobic enthusiasm.  Bev loved to vacation and shop for jewelry in Mexico.  She loved bonding with her family on group vacations and cruises, many of them south of the border.  We have been rewarded with many special family memories.

She spent summers in NJ with her grandkids. She loved visiting her son and daughter in law near San Francisco, visiting the wine country, discovering street fairs and cheering on the SF Giants.

Bev was known for her cheery smile, her friendly way, and bright blue eyes. Always a friendly greeting and hug for all the friends and family that came her way.

Survived by her sister, Margean Cress (Westerhouse) in Topeka, Kansas; son, Terry M Joslin, (Vicki) Novato, California; daughter Denise A Neuwirth (Paul) New Providence, N.J., grandchildren, Dara J Simons. (Scott), Marc O. Neuwirth (Lara) and three great grandchildren: Madeline, Emily and Nico.

A private service for the family will take place in the Memorial Garden at New Providence Presbyterian Church.
