Carmen Sugges, 77, of Union, NJ, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2022. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St. in Union on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:15am. Interment is private. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on May 26, 2022, from 4 to 8pm.
Born and raised in Honokaa, Hawaii, the daughter of Vincente and Hope (Kekoa) Bragada, Carmen had also lived in Waukegan, Il, Elizabeth and Wayne, NJ before moving to Union in 1978. Carmen received her bachelor’s degree in Education from National Lewis University in Evanston, Il. A primary school teacher, she worked for many years at the St. Rose of Lima Academy in Short Hills, and the Peterstown School 3 in Elizabeth. Carmen enjoyed cooking multinational cuisines and traveling.
Carmen was the beloved wife of 54 years to Theodore “Ted” Sugges. She is also survived by her dear brother Elroy Bragado and his wife Linda and her nephew Jeri Bragado and his wife Kerri. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmen’s memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
