Corinne Ann Eckmann, 89, of Springfield passed away on April 8, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. in Springfield on Thursday, April 12th at 10am. Interment is private. Born in Garwood, NJ, the daughter of Harry and Florence Willoughby, Corinne had also lived in Westfield and attended Holy Trinity Schools. She attended Seton Hall University and worked as a legal secretary at Merck before marrying Leo and moving to Springfield 58 years ago. She was the Certified Tax Collector for the Township of Springfield for nearly 30 years until her retirement in 2009. A Master Gardener and avid quilter, Corinne also loved square dancing.
Corinne was the beloved wife of 61 years to Leo. She was the loving mother of Stephen and his wife Susan, Patricia Stevens and her husband Ken, Kathleen Pichieri and her husband Albert, Ann Mori and her husband Ted and Peter and his wife Nafisa. She was also the beloved Mimi of Allison, Christopher, Daphne, Julia, Katherine, Penelope and Thomas.
