Diane Elizabeth Johnson, 61, of Springfield, NJ, passed away on April 3, 2022. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. in Springfield on Monday, April 11th at 10am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Sunday from 3 to 6pm.
Born in Burkina Faso and raised in Ghana, the daughter of Paul Oscar and Elizabeth (Naboh) Anala, Diane came to the United States in 1987. First settling in Virginia, until later moving to New Jersey where she resided in Montclair before moving to Springfield in 2003. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Rutgers University, Newark Campus and was a licensed Certified Public Accountant. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Florham Park, New Jersey. Diane was exceptionally intelligent and very hard working. She moved on to work for S & P Global as a Senior Director, Consolidation & Analysis in the Princeton Office. A longtime parishioner at St. James, Diane was also a member of AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). She enjoyed travel and reading.
Diane was the beloved wife of the late Carlus Johnson. She was the loving mother of Cal Johnson and Lena Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings, twin sister Ms. Denysia Wincott, older sisters Ms. Grace Anala, Ms. Leticia Anala, her brothers Fr. Anthony Anala and Ishmael Anala. Her nieces Lysa Van Herk, Amy Wincott and Mae Wincott. Nephews Rudolph Atowe and James Wincott and the entire Anala family of Ghana, Africa.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfiels Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081.
