Dorothea Bertelle, 85, of Florham Park, Passed away on August 13, 2022. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave. in Chatham on Friday, August 19th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visiting hours at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham will be on Thursday, August 18th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Born in Brooklyn, the daughter of Michael and Marie (Naste) Ferrara, Dorothea was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School. She had also lived in Staten Island, Randolph and Whippany, NJ, before recently moving to Florham Park. Dorothea worked for many years as an administrative assistant with Axis Insurance in Berkeley Heights. She is fondly remembered for her devotion to her family and church.
Dorothea was the beloved wife of the late Albert Bertelle. She was the loving mother of Janice B. Maydick and her husband John Maydick, Jr. (Jack) and Michael Bertelle. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, John J. Maydick, Christina M. Kenny, Michael A. Maydick, Michael H. Bertelle, James M. Bertelle, and Matthew P. Bertelle and great grandchildren, Emma C. Maydick, John J. Maydick, Anne S. Kenny and Peter A. Kenny.
