Edith Lambiase

Edith Lambiase, (nee Gargione), 99, of Union, NJ, passed peacefully on August 8, 2021.
She was born in Prignano Cilento, Italy, to Rosa (nee Nigro) and Nicola Gargione.
The family immigrated to the United States in 1928 and settled in Newark, NJ.
Edith attended Central High School in Newark before becoming employed as a floor supervisor
at Harrison Clothing Company in East Newark.

Edith was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Pasquale Lambiase.  She is survived by her
two daughters, Rosanne Lambiase and Judy Sacks, son-in-law Ron and sister, Adeline Marino
along with seventeen nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Gunnello,
Jennie Romanelli, Frank Gargione and Dolly Minnuies, as well as a niece and three nephews.

Edith was known for being an impeccable dresser and always had meticulously groomed hair.
She was a feisty, strong-willed Italian woman whose life revolved around her family and caring for others.
She was a great cook and had a beautiful singing voice.  She was a long-time avid Country music fan.

Spending time with family pets made her smile.  Watching TV comedies and soap operas filled her days.
She enjoyed attending Broadway shows, playing the Lottery and snacking on Snickers candy bars.  She
was passionate about driving and drove until the age of 92.  She was also a faithful church-goer and
belonged to the Children of Mary as a child.

A kind and gentle person, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The visitation will be held for family and friends at Bradley, Haeberle and Barth, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union,NJ,
on Thursday, August 12 from 7-9 pm and Friday, August 13 from 4-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 9:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Road, Union, NJ.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
