~~Edwin Roy Holt, 82, of Morristown and Chatham, passed away on June 26, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, in Chatham on Thursday, June 29th at 4:00pm. Friends are invited to visit from 3 to 4pm prior to the service.
Born and raised in Chicago and Maywood, Illinois, the son of Edwin A. and Dorothy (Nelson) Holt, Ed had also lived in Chatham for 34 years prior to moving to Morristown in 2004. He earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his MBA from Pace University. A manager with Lucent Technologies in Basking Ridge, Ed retired in 1994 after nearly forty years of service. He was a longtime and active member at Chatham United Methodist Church and the Minisink Swim Club where he was an enthusiastic paddle tennis player. Ed enjoyed reading and golf and was a dedicated fan of the NY Jets, NY Yankees, and was especially proud to see the Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series.
Ed was the beloved husband of 61 years to Nancy. He was the loving father of Jeffrey and his wife Barbara, Deborah Ahsler and her husband Richard, and the late Edwin D. and his wife Leigh, the cherished grandfather of Jennifer Galbraith, Christopher Holt, Philip Ahsler, the late Edwin Holt Ahsler, Samuel Ahsler, Christa Clark, Morgan Holt, and Edwin W. Holt, and great grandfather of Matthew, Jackson, Lillian and Graham.
