Emmie C. Wong, 80, of Millburn, NJ, passed peacefully on October 5, 2022. Born and raised in New York, NY, Emmie has been living in Millburn, NJ since the 1960’s. She was a crossing guard for the Millburn Police Department for many years. Emmie was passionate about food and she loved cooking for friends and family. Her shrimp toast was legendary in the neighborhood. Emmie loved to travel, listen to classical music, and watch classic movies, especially the “Sound of Music”.
Emmie is survived by her husband, Thik Fong (“Ricky”) Wong; her children, Wendy Nolte, Jennifer Ross, Audrey Martin and Timothy Wong; her sons-in-law, Doug Ross and William Martin; her daughter-in-law, Megan Wong; her nine grandchildren, Kayleigh, Daniel, MacKenzie, Abigail, Meghan, Andrew, Caroline, Caleb and Jacob; and her siblings, Annabelle Lee, Norman and George Chin. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Myrna Moy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 3 pm to 5:30 pm with Words of Remembrance starting at 5:30 pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue in Springfield, New Jersey.
A repast for family and friends will take place at Mosaico 22 following the Memorial Gathering. Mosaico 22 is located at 1072 US-22 W, Mountainside, NJ 07092.
