Ethel Dolores Connolly (nee Cadigan), 91 of Summit NJ passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021.
Born in Boston, Mass, Ethel was the daughter of Ethel and Connie Cadigan. She met and married her husband Garrett in Boston. In the 1950’s they moved to NJ, eventually settling in Summit where they raised their four children. Ethel lived in Summit for over sixty years. She worked at the Summit Medical Group for forty years, a job she enjoyed immensely and met many good friends. Ethel was a parishioner of St. Teresa’s Church for over sixty years, also a member of the Rosary Society. She was a big sports fan, especially Summit High School. In her earlier years Ethel enjoyed golf, bowling, playing bridge and taking long walks. She also enjoyed going to Broadway shows in NYC. Ethel also liked to travel; Ireland, Italy and the Caribbean were among her destinations. Ethel’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her six grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. Ethel is pre-deceased by her husband, the late Garrett J. Connolly Sr. She is survived by her four children. Garrett J. Connolly Jr and his wife Helen, Paula Close and her husband Jim, David J Connolly and his wife Tracey, Jeffrey N Connolly. Grandmother of Kristen Connolly, Stephen Connolly, Katharine Guaragno and her husband John, Garrett Connolly and his wife Tayler, Alanna Connolly and David Connolly.
