Eugene J. McArdle, 90, of Cedar Knolls, NJ passed away on November 16, 2022. Memorial visiting hours at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd. in Whippany will be on Sunday, November 20th from 1pm to 4pm. There will be a prayer service at 3:30pm during the visitation.
Born and raised in Jersey City, the son of Eugene A. and Helen (Boyle) McArdle, Eugene moved to Cedar Knolls in 1973. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955. Eugene was the Manager of Building Maintenance for NJ Bell, retiring in 1998 after 33 years of service. A member and past president of Hanover Kawanis, he was also a Boy Scout leader in his younger years. Eugene was an all around talented handyman. He enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He authored his autobiography, “Snapshots in Time-as I recall it”.
Eugene was the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Mary Lou. He was the loving father of Kevin McArdle and his wife Kristine, Dan McArdle and his partner Sandra Reece, and Dave McArdle and his wife Ellen. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Spencer, Emma, Zachary, Ryan, Sean, Kayleigh, George, and Flynn, his brothers, Dan and Ken, his sister Denise Mulcahy and many loving relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugene’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105
