Evelyn Connant, 97, of Short Hills, passed away on December 19, 2022. Evelyn was born in Brooklyn, and went on to graduate from Pace University. She grew up in Jersey City and there met and married Charles Ellis Connant and raised three beautiful children together. As a homemaker she was heavily involved in her communities volunteering her time at both the Greek Orthodox Church in Jersey City and Community Congregational Church in Short Hills, where she was a Rummage Sale Volunteer and Twig Volunteer. She cherished spending her time with her many friends and loved playing bridge.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Charles Connant, MD, in 2013. She will be dearly missed by her adoring children, Pamela Connant, Charles Connant Jr and his wife, Christina, and Susan Connant Kloss, along with her two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Corinne.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 2pm to 6pm at Bradley, Smith, and Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ. On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, a funeral mass will be held at 11am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Rd, Westfield, NJ 07090 with interment to follow Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
