Jonathan “Jono” Star Bristol (formerly John Adam Starosciak) passed away from coronary disease on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home in Chatham, New Jersey. He was 65.  He was born in Union, New Jersey on August 15, 1955 to Julia Gmyrek and John Starosciak.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Amherst College in 1978, and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1981. He practiced law for over 35 years and was a member of the Bar Associations of New York and New Jersey. He was unquestionably a gifted and accomplished lawyer.  Over the course of his legal career his practice emphasis was on commercial finance transactions representing some of the most prominent real estate owners, developers, construction managers, and financial institutions throughout the country, and rose through the ranks from the level of an associate to become a partner within several of the most distinguished international law firms.

Jonathan spent much of his younger years in San Francisco, California.  He enjoyed the sun and warmth and what many consider, the laid-back lifestyle of the West Coast He returned home to New Jersey in 1985.  To all who knew him well he was a warm and generous man with a heart of gold. Jonathan was known for his love of fine wines, mint chocolate chip ice cream, Bruce Springsteen, and of course, his children.

Jono is survived by his three loving children, Emily Bristol, Joshua Bristol, and Rebecca Bristol, his former spouse, Barabara Bristol, his sister and her family, Julia Leblond, Donald Leblond, Keith Leblond, and Jason Leblond, numerous cousins, and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 10:30am at Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham, NJ.  Corpus Christi will be zooming Jonathan’s Service, live at 10:30. A meeting link to join will be available on their website, www.corpuschristi.org
