Joseph Dudash

Joseph Dudash, 86, of Union, NJ passed peacefully on July 7, 2023. Born in Chelsea, Vermont, Joe and family lived in Ohio and New York City before settling in Union. A graduate of Union High School, he was involved in several sports including baseball, football, and wrestling. After graduation, Joe served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and then played minor league football and baseball.  In 1971, he joined the Union Fire Dept and spent the next 25 years serving the township in this capacity. After retirement, he was the co-owner of Joe’s Place in Union, NJ for 17 years. Joe was a member of the American Legion, Union Elks and the FMBA.

Joe is pre-deceased by his wife Susan Elizabeth Dudash (nee Soelbrandt) and his daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Dudash. He is survived by his son, Joseph Dudash, Jr. and his two brothers, Victor and Richard.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 20, 6-9PM at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union, followed by a prayer service in the same location on Friday, July 21 at 10:30AM.
