Plan for the Future
Joyce J. Collabella-Massimino passed away peacefully at St. Barnabas Medical Center on Monday, May 22, 2023 after a short illness. Joyce was born in Newark, New Jersey to Italia (nee Colacurto) and Louis Colabella who predeceased her. Joyce was self-employed as a domestic worker assisting her clients keep homes that were clean, tidy, and organized. Joyce was also a profoundly loving caregiver to her many aging clients. While not at work, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her many cousins and friends attending concerts, dance recitals, and other cultural events. She could often be found at the Livingston Public Library browsing through the newest movies and books in their collection. What those of us who loved her recall most about Joyce is her celebration of the special events in our lives — birthdays, anniversaries, graduations — that she always remembered with a much-appreciated card, caring note, or thoughtful gift.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Barbara Skwarek, her sisters Diane & Angela, and many adoring cousins and friends who will miss her wonderful stories and contagious laugh.
