Katherine Ferraro, 92, of Randolph (formerly of Union) passed away on December 4, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 1447 Sussex Tpke, in Randolph on Thursday, December 9th at 10am. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Union. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., in Whippany on Wednesday, December 8th from 4pm to 7pm.
Born and raised in New York City, the daughter of Julia Kallams (formerly Kallamatitsas) (nee Julia Besofsky, formerly Beacovsky) and Speros Kallams (ne Spiridom Kallamatitsas).
Katherine had also lived in Washington, DC and then Union, NJ (for 40 years) before moving to Randolph 10 years ago. In her younger years Katherine was a dance instructor with Arthur Murray in New York City and a Cruise Hostess with Sitmar Cruises where she enjoyed exploring the world. She later worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City until her retirement in 2006. In addition to dancing, another one of Katherine’s passion was animals and their well-being rescuing many cats over the years. She always found a way to donate to many organizations committed to helping God’s creatures.
Katherine is predeceased by her sisters Mary Zazanis and Bessie Olivarez. Katherine was the beloved mother of Marc Ferraro and his wife Laura. She is also survived by her nephew John Zazanis and his wife Alexandra.
