Leslie J. Picinich
04/16/1957 - 04/02/2024

Leslie J. Picinich, of Parsippany, passed away at home on April 2, 2024, in the embrace of her loving family. For 66 years, she blessed all those she knew with her warmth and contagious joy for life.

Though born in Jamaica, Queens, Leslie grew up in Parsippany and was a 1975 graduate of Parsippany Hills High School. Her passion for animals led her to pursue Animal and Veterinary Science studies at West Virginia University. In 1982, she earned her MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University. As a young professional, Leslie’s ambition flourished during her time with American Cyanamid, followed by Shulton. Her talents were directed toward working as a production planning manager in the animal feed supplement and consumer goods divisions.

Nothing was more important to Leslie than spending quality time with her family. Leslie raised her two daughters at home, fostering the perfect space for them to blossom. Every day was made special for her loved ones; she especially enjoyed throwing grand celebrations for birthdays and Christmas. Leslie also took great pride in being a supportive roller skating mom and dedicated Girl Scout Leader. Once her daughters grew older, she returned to the workplace with the Magnusson Group from 2005 until she retired in 2020.

Leslie’s happy place was anywhere near the water—whether on a sunset sail in Key West, collecting shells on Long Beach Island, or reading outside while looking out at her home lake. Her sprawling garden tells the story of her tender and caregiving nature. Leslie was a visionary with the gift to make everything beautiful. Her warm essence continues to live in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.

Leslie was an integral member of the Bichon Frise Club of Northern New Jersey. Her love for animals began at an early age, with her first cat Spiro. She cared for many beloved companions throughout her life, including her cow in college Cornelia; her cats Sam and Simon; her Bichons Polly, Sasha, Sammy, Jersi, and Niko; and her grand-puppy Winnie.

Leslie is the beloved wife of Nick, the loving mother of Liana, Lacey, and her son-in-law Lucas, the devoted daughter of Eileen Kohnle and Erwin Conrad, and the cherished sister of Laura Hartigan and Peter Conrad. She was predeceased by her daughter and angel, Molly Jo.
