Louis A. Leggiero, 81, of Chatham Township, NJ and New York City, passed away August 18, 2012, after a long illness. Born and raised in New York, he lived in London, England before moving to Chatham in 1968.
A graduate of New York University and veteran of the Korean War, his 35 years with Exxon International brought him to over 40 countries, during which he was instrumental in the development of the oil trading industry. He also held positions as General Manager of Cedar (Montedison) Trading and President of Attock Oil Services.
Mr. Leggiero was a member of Corpus Christi Parish where he was the founding Principal of the Elementary School CCD Program.
Preceded in death by his son, Christopher, he is survived by his wife, Josephine “Tina”; his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Dimitri Romais and grandsons Michael and Gregory; siblings Rose Leggiero, Nancy Cresci, and Angelo Leggiero; and sister-in-law, Angela Sacina.
