Macaulay Okoh
12/14/1947 - 02/19/2022

VMSE Macaulay Okoh, of Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022.  He was 74.

He was born on December 14, 1947 to the late Chief Okoh, the First Ebi of Agbor & the Duke of Boji Boji Orogobo and the late Obue Okoh in Agbor, Nigeria.

Macaulay left Nigeria in 1968, with the love of his life, wife Comfort Okoh.  He attended Essex County College and Kean College, where he received his degree in welding.  He was an extremely hard worker, working as a General Manager at the Royal Inn Hotel, located in East Orange, NJ for many years.  Wanting a change, he then began working as a Probation Officer for the State of New Jersey where he later retired as a Senior Probation Officer.

VMSE Macaulay Okoh was a devoted man of God.  He joined Celestial Church of Christ in the 1980’s.  Located in Brooklyn, NY, he was one of the founding members of C.C.C. New Jersey Parish.  He was a great man who loved to laugh, was very generous and enjoyed attending parties with his wife.  He loved to dance and was a member of Igbo community.

Thank you for all of the love and support being shown to our family during this grieving process.

Macaulay is survived by his two children, Ijeoma Okoh and Nkonyeasua Okoh, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Comfort Okoh

Service of Songs will be held at Celestial Church of Christ, 187-189 Camden St., Newark on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
