Maria José Cunha Araujo, 77, of Union passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St. in Union on Wednesday, October 28th at 10:15 am. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle, and Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.
Born and raised in Sopo, Vila Nova De Cerveira, Portugal Maria and her late husband, Abilio, came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Union where they raised their family together. Maria loved crocheting, cooking, and documenting her sightseeing adventures with her favorite red camera. The core of her existence was spending time with and enjoying, her family, especially her grandchildren.
Maria was the beloved wife of fifty years to the late Abilio Araujo. She was the loving mother of Maria Helena Florian, Jorge Araujo, and his wife Michelle, and Carlos Araujo and his wife Carla. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Steven, Ashley, and Andrew, as well as many loving relatives and extended family.
