Michael Petrilli, 97, of Millburn passed away on January 3, 2019. A funeral service will be held at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Monday, January 7th at 10:15am. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit. Born and raised in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy, the son of Antonio and Angela (Gallo) Petrilli, he was the youngest of 10 children. Michael served in the Italian Army during WWII He came to the United States in 1952 settling in Millburn. Michael worked for the Town of Millburn for 27 years. He was a long time parishioner at St. Rose of Lima in Short Hills and was a Lifetime member of the Casa Columbo of Millburn. He enjoyed his family, making wine, was an avid gardener and loved cooking.
Michael was the beloved husband of the late Mariannina for 33 years until her passing in 1989. He was the loving father of Anthony and his wife Virginia, and Joseph and his wife Colleen. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Nina, Joseph, and Jenna, as well as many nieces and nephews here and abroad.
