Michele (Michael) Vespa, 89, of Millburn, NJ, passed peacefully on May 2, 2022. Born in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Benevento, Italy, he emigrated to Montreal, Canada where he met and married his beloved Michelina.
Together they emigrated to America and raised two sons, Antonio and Nicolo.
Michele was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Casa Colombo Civic Association of Millburn. He was a hardworking man who loved his family and friends, traveling with his wife “Micky” and spending time at their home on the Jersey Shore. Michele was a mechanic for Bell Laboratories-Lucent Technologies in Murray Hill, NJ before retiring after 32 years.
Michele is survived by his wife of 68 years, Michelina “Mickey” Barbato Vespa. Father of Antonio “Tony” Vespa and his wife Donna of Florham Park, NJ. Grandfather to Michael Vespa of Wayne, Mary Catherine Molnar and her husband Joseph of Randolph. Great Grandfather to their children, Tanner and Andrew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave. Burial service will be held at The Mausoleum, St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 11th, 4 pm to 8 pm at Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. Springfield, NJ.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Repass at Clemenza’s Restaurant, 382 Millburn Ave, Millburn, NJ.
