Nelson E. Sprague, 68, of Plainfield, NJ, passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2019. Nelson was born in Elizabeth, NJ, to the late Edward A. Sprague and Hazel M. Sprague. Nelson graduated from Union High School and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Rider College. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a computer programmer. He was a true gentleman, who enjoyed making lovely ceramic dishes and pottery. Nelson had a kind and generous spirit for everyone he met and a special place in his heart for animals of all kinds, especially cats. He is survived by his sister, Karen A. Zompa and husband, LTC(R) Hank Zompa, of Jamestown, NC.
There will be a private viewing at Bradley, Harbele & Barth Funeral Home, Union, NJ, at noon on Wednesday, April 24, followed by a graveside service at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to CenterPath Wellness, 117-119 Roosevelt Avenue, Plainfield, NJ 07060.
