Paul Harmaty
03/05/1955 - 12/09/2023

Paul R. Harmaty, husband of Anna Myroslawa Harmaty and father of Aaron Harmaty, passed away on December 9th, 2023, at his home, due to health complications. Paul Harmaty grew up in poverty in Bushwick, Brooklyn, when his father died. Paul moved to New Jersey at the age of 30, before marrying his wife and taking her name. His career began in graphic design, though eventually he moved onto the corporate world starting in a customer service role. He had an impactful career at Pershing and the Bank of New York. Even though Paul only had a G.E.D., he eventually achieved the role of Vice President in Information Security.

Paul’s life was illuminated with table-top gaming, fantasy literature, music, singing, theater, history, astronomy, and being the best friend, husband, and father, he could be. This past fall, he rediscovered a love of creative writing. He was known to the ones he loved for his sharp wit, acerbic honesty, rigid integrity, and limitless capacity for generosity. Paul is survived by his wife, Anna and his son, Aaron. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Though he might not have known it, he was the change he wished to see in the world.
