Raymond J. Waryn

Raymond J. Waryn, a long-time resident of Union, passed away at his home in Toms River on December 18, 2022. He was 87.

Born in Newark, NJ to the late Elizabeth and John Waryn, Ray lived in Union for many years before moving to Toms River a short time ago.  Ray loved music- he was a piano and accordion player and teacher, a member of Musicians Local 16 and a member of The Neil Caryl Orchestra.  He served as a medic in the National Guard for 8 years and was very patriotic.

He had been a teacher at Union County Vocational and Technical School and was a member of the Newark Craftsman Club.  Ray was a devout Catholic and an active member of his church.  He loved to go bowling and golfing.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Rose Ann; his loving son Christopher and his wife Lori; and his cherished granddaughter Brandie, all of Brick.  He was predeceased by his son Robert, of Union.
