Richard “Dick” C. Currey-Longtime Summit Resident
Richard C. Currey, 76, of Chatham, formerly of Summit, NJ, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Born in Orange, raised in East Orange, Richard lived in Chatham before moving to Summit many years ago. He attended and graduated from Summit High School in 1955. He is a 1959 graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration. He was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Richard was stockbroker for Scotia Bank in New York City, NY, before retiring. He was a member and former President of Canoe Brook Country Club, a member of Baltusrol Golf Club, the New York Stock Exchange Luncheon Club, the Buttonwood Club, Kiawah Island Club and a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Richard is pre-deceased by his wife of 42 years, Maree Angele Currey. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Currey Mann and her husband Bruce, and Lynn Currey Barclay and her late husband Victor. Grandfather of Jaclyn & Austin Mann and Ryan Barclay. Richard is pre-deceased by his brother David Currey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:45 am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave, Summit. Interment St. Teresa’s Cemetery. Visiting hours, Thursday, Dec. 4, 2-4 & 6-8., at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham.
