Robert Churchill Williamson peacefully passed away at home on March 7th, 2024, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Montclair, raised in Verona, Bob raised his own family in North Caldwell before moving to Roseland and then Chatham. Bob was known for his mischievous smile, his infectious laugh, his sportsmanship, and his love of a good time. He played semiprofessional soccer and was a graduate of Bloomfield College.
Bob was a government bond broker on Wall Street for over 35 years before retiring in 2007, after which he worked as a substitute teacher in Verona and Caldwell, where he was affectionately referred to as “Mr. Will” by his students.
He spent many happy years making memories with family and friends in Dover Hills, Vermont. Bob will be remembered for his love of family and friends, fine wine, the Mets, the Giants, the Devils, and golf.
Predeceased by his parents, Irving and Grace (Brodhead), and his brother, Ronald, Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Madeline (nee Freda), his three children Robyn Reeves (Pete), Joseph (Marcy) and Daniel (Kim), as well as his six grandchildren (Julia, Emma, Wyatt, Kit, Miles, and Charlie), all of whom he loved dearly.
