Rose F. Blum passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Westfield, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, NJ and lived in Short Hills, NJ for 53 years. Daughter of the late Mario and Lena Farinella. A graduate of St. Elizabeth College in Convent Station, NJ. She taught English at Kawameeh Junior High School in Union, NJ for 38 years before retirement in 1984. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Rose of Lima Church. Rose and her husband enjoyed the ballet and theater along with their trips to Bermuda and Europe. Rose is predeceased by her husband Robert who were married for 59 years. She is survived by her devoted and loving sister, Marie Boscia and her husband Richard Boscia. Also surviving are cousins, Joseph and Lydia Reilly, Jeffrey and Nancy Reilly, Andrew Reilly and Caitlin Iapoce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills, NJ. Interment to follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s name may be made to. St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
