Rose Marie Bufo, 99, of Springfield, NJ, and Mount Pleasant, SC passed away on February 26, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave. in Short Hills on Thursday, March 10th at 11am. Interment will follow at the St. Rose of Lima Church Cemetery. Visiting hours at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield will be from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to the Mass.
Born and raised in Millburn, NJ, the daughter of Salvatore and Lucia (Tarullo) Solazzi, Rose graduated from Millburn High School in 1940. In her earlier years she worked at Prudential Insurance prior to leaving to raise her family. Rose was a longtime parishioner at St. James Church and member of Life Lighters at St. Rose of Lima. She was also a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A lifelong learner, Rose was constantly reading, searching out new authors and traveling to places that touched her personal history and heritage. She loved gardening and could make anything grow and spent a lifetime creating beautiful needlework.
Rose was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Michael Bufo. She was the loving mother of Patricia Bufo Murray and Rene Bufo Miles and her husband James. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Bria Murray and Michael J. Miles and his wife Chelsea Kahn and great grandson, Ryatt Murray.
