Funeral Home 0000213 William Lapointe Brv20 015lapointe 268x400It is with great sadness that William ‘Bill’ LaPointe, 44, from Whippany, NJ, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital ICU in Philadelphia after a valiant fight to recover from a massive heart attack on January 22, 2020.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Susan Benemerito LaPointe and children Chase and Charlotte. He was adored by parents Bill Sr. and Barbara LaPointe, sister Lisa LaPointe Preuss and parents-in-law Justino and Dolores Benemerito. Bill will also be dearly missed by extended family, friends and colleagues.

Born in Summit, NJ, on May 20, 1975, Bill grew up in Union and graduated from Union Catholic high school in 1993. He proceeded to Caldwell College and received 2 Bachelor degrees in Business and Mathematics in 1997 and then attained 2 Master degrees in Finance and MIS at Montclair State University in 2008. Bill started his career at ADP Retirement Services, where he continued to work for 22 years as a loyal employee in various management roles.

Bill had a range of skills that filled his spare time, from juggling clown gigs to rock band gigs as a bass player in his youth to becoming an avid poker player, and fantasy sports enthusiast. Bill also dedicated his time as a volunteer coach for his children’s basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball teams.  An adventurer at heart who went skydiving and a survival boot camp in the Colorado Mountains and traveled to Europe and Alaska in earlier years. Bill then continued adventures with his wife and traveled the world to England, Spain, Mauritius, Africa, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Family travel was then scaled down to the Caribbean islands, Florida, Disney World (4 years in a row), Canada and local trips to NY, the Jersey shore and camping.

On a day to day basis, Bill was the solid rock for his family.  From getting the kids to school on time right before morning office meetings to pickups for school and sports, homework, playtime and bedtime routine, Bill juggled it all very well.

Bill was truly a one of a kind spirit to be fondly remembered. Smart, Selfless, Supportive, Strong, Loving, Caring, Creative, Clever Humor, Musical, Unconditional.
